David has focused on providing professional expertise around the selling and buying of businesses since 1996. His successful projects include strategic acquisitions, corporate mergers, successful divestitures, corporate governance, and management consulting solutions.
Richard brings a broad range of experience to the MAXIMA Group’s transaction advisory services. His background includes independent business entrepreneurship, mergers and acquisitions for mid-size companies, mortgage financing and funding, and business development for financial services. He was the project leader in a private investor fund for both commercial buildings and multi-family units, as well as several B2B distribution and supply chain operations. Richard has also worked with government officials and has a very strong sense of community.
Clayton brings financial analysis, research methodologies, and marketing skill sets to the MAXIMA team. He supports the valuation, due diligence, and transaction process. Before joining the MAXIMA Group, he performed post-transaction audit support for a large operator of consumer entertainment facilities and provided research and financial consulting to evaluate the viability of a $2 billion dollar international transportation project. Earlier experience includes working for a major Canadian telecommunications company, where he analyzed distressed assets, qualified strategic acquisition targets, and advanced business development and operations in its commercial services division. Clayton also has experience as a copywriter and journalist, covering diverse areas such as economics, finance, energy markets, electronic entertainment, and culture. He is heavily involved in his community, organizing more than a dozen events each year which provide an avenue for education on issues pertaining to economics, finance, law, and ethics.

Todd is part of the ABL team as the area manager for Calgary and southern Alberta. As a broker and consultant for commercial loans he works with Small and Midsize Enterprises finding business owners the right financing for their needs, from acquiring a business to ongoing working capital and asset acquisition. He holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Applied Small Business and Entrepreneurship and has been in financial services and loan brokering for over ten years. He also holds his mortgage license with Dominion Lending Centres Mortgage Mentors Inc. to offer assistance with arranging commercial mortgage options for businesses looking to purchase or refinance their real estate.

Cal is one of the four founding partners of KMSS and has dedicated his entire career to developing his tax expertise to service our clients. Cal earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 1974 and subsequently attained his CA designation. He is a member of DFK’s Americas Tax Committee and the International Tax Committee.
