Meet the MAXIMA Team

The MAXIMA team is exactly that – a team. We’re united by the desire to help business leaders divest their ownership of their business for maximum value.

David Braun, President

David has focused on providing professional expertise around the selling and buying of businesses since 1996. His successful projects include strategic acquisitions, corporate mergers, successful divestitures, corporate governance, and management consulting solutions.

Richard Asselin, Vice President

Richard brings a broad range of experience to the MAXIMA Group’s transaction advisory services. His background includes independent business entrepreneurship, mergers and acquisitions for mid-size companies, mortgage financing and funding, and business development for financial services. He was the project leader in a private investor fund for both commercial buildings and multi-family units, as well as several B2B distribution and supply chain operations. Richard has also worked with government officials and has a very strong sense of community.

Clayton Reeder, Project Analyst

Part of the MAXIMA team since 2014, Clayton has supported the valuation, marketing, due diligence, and transaction process for more than 100 M&A-related projects. Before joining the MAXIMA Group, he performed post-acquisition audit support for a large operator of consumer entertainment facilities and provided research and financial consulting to evaluate the viability of a $2 billion dollar international transportation project. Earlier experience includes working for a major Canadian telecommunications company, where he analyzed distressed assets and helped qualify strategic acquisition targets. He also supported business development and operational improvements in its commercial services division. Clayton also has experience as a copywriter and journalist, covering diverse areas such as economics, finance, energy markets, electronic entertainment, and culture. He is heavily involved in his community, organizing more than a dozen events each year which provide an avenue for education on issues pertaining to economics, finance, law, and ethics. He also writes pro-oil, pro-pipeline articles for CAEPLA’s quarterly Pipeline Observer magazine.
